Modular Wooden Railway - mixing old with new - wTrak - 09-30-2014

In Seattle, modular wooden train tables have been a part of two Makers' Faires, a creative playspace, and many train shows. The tables combine old-school wooden tracks and trains with technology. LED's light a subway and another LED circuit has a PROM that flickers the lights out and gradually fade them back on inside a tunnel.

And specialty tracks are designed in Rhino 5.0 and cut using a CNC router. Even rolling stock is starting to be designed and cut to support hands-on railway clinics.

The tables are a project that explores mixed media married with technology. Future ideas include an RC engine. Other ideas and suggestions are welcome. We'll be at
The Fall Train Show in Spokane on Sunday, October 12th, 2014
This is our first time to take the tables East of the Cascades - drop by and introduce yourself if you are there. Or visit our website at wTrak.org for additional details - and share your thoughts and ideas here!
