Sounds like it could be an awesome project. Some ideas though:
  • Steel frame and sheet metal body are really heavy, which makes efficiency difficult. Fiberglass is lightweight and still cheapish if you mold your own.
  • Motorcycle tires are going to make it very unstable to drive. They will pull hard with any change in chamber or lips/edges on the road. I would look toward classic VW hubs/tires (or similar) instead; they're cheaper.
  • All-wheel swing arms will be complex, but awesome.
